Put your shark smarts to the test at Shark Trivia Night in collaboration with Geeks Who Drink on Thursday, July 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Trivia Night is included with aquarium admission but advanced registration is required. Walk-up spots cannot be guaranteed.
Pre-Trivia Science Talk with Dovi Kacev
Join Dovi Kacev, shark researcher and teaching professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, as he dives into the fascinating, mysterious world of sharks and rays. His research explores where these incredible animals live, how they interact with their environment and what drives their movements. Driven by a lifelong passion, Dovi is dedicated to uncovering the secrets of shark and ray ecology to deepen our understanding and support conservation and sustainability efforts.

Event Details
- Shark Trivia Night Schedule
When: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Where: Blue Beach (south courtyard)- 5:30 p.m. — Food and drinks available for purchase on Blue Beach (Blue Wave Bistro open all day)
- 6:15 to 6:30 p.m. — Pre-trivia talk by Scripps Oceanography shark researcher Dovi Kacev (definitely worth listening to for some helpful hints!)
- 6:30 p.m. — Shark Trivia rounds begin
- 7:30 p.m. — Shark Trivia concludes
- 8 p.m. — Aquarium closes
- Trivia Teams
Maximum of six (6) people per team.
- Trivia Devices
Teams can play trivia from any WiFi-enabled or cellular data device. We recommend fully charging your device prior to arriving at the aquarium as there are no charging stations/outlets available.
- Cancellation Policy
Should your plans change and you can no longer attend Shark Summer Trivia Night, please let us know at least 48 hours in advance so we can open the spot(s) to others.
