Community Donations
At Birch Aquarium, our mission is to connect understanding to protecting our ocean planet. As an entirely self-supported organization, we are proud to support other San Diego-based nonprofits in their fundraising efforts through the in-kind donation of general admission vouchers that can be used in raffles, auctions, etc.
Requests for cash donations, behind-the-scenes tours, memberships and other services will not be considered. Due to the overwhelming volume of donation requests received by Birch Aquarium, we are not able to reply to individual requests. Vouchers will be mailed to qualifying organizations on a weekly basis. Please, no phone calls.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be considered for a general admission voucher donation, your organization must meet these three requirements:
- Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located within San Diego County using the vouchers as a fundraising item.
- Support K-12 education and/or environmental stewardship.
- Requests must be received at least eight weeks, but no more than six months, prior to the scheduled event.
- Requests made by mail, fax, or over the phone will not be considered.
We are unable to donate to for-profit organizations or individuals raising money for another group. Requests for donations are limited to one request per year, per organization.
How to Submit Your Request
- Donation requests must be submitted online using the below form at least six weeks, but no more than six months, prior to the scheduled event.
- Requests made by mail, fax, or over the phone will not be considered

- Meeting the above conditions does not guarantee a donation. The value of ticketed donations is subject to change at the discretion of Birch Aquarium.
- Birch Aquarium is not able to fill out any forms related to your request.
- Vouchers hold no cash value.
