Photos: There’s Something About Seahorses

The opening of our new exhibit, There’s Something about Seahorses, was a hit!  The public is just as fascinated by seahorses as the Birch Aquarium staff.

The exhibit, which opened Nov. 14, features more than a dozen species of seahorses and their kin, including the spectacular looking leafy and weedy seadragon. Visitors explore the life and times of seahorses, including their amazing mating strategies (shout out to male seahorses for giving birth!).

Birch Aquarium is especially proud to showcase a seahorse nursery in the exhibit, which highlights the aquarium’s award-winning breeding program that reduces pressure to collect these animals from the wild.
