In an effort to better serve the community and in partnership with many generous supporters, Birch Aquarium at Scripps offers financial aid to schools in need.

If you are a teacher or educator at a school in need and are interested in scheduling a program with us, we encourage you to apply for financial aid.  Financial assistance will help offset the costs for the following programs:

Price Philanthropies Ocean Science Education Fund 2020-21

Through the generosity of Price Philanthropies and other donors, the Price Philanthropies Ocean Science Education Fund was established to increase access to hands-on ocean science education by delivering our Aquarium  Outreach programs directly to schools in need in City Heights and surrounding areas. In the 2020-21 school year, we will deliver our outreach programs virtually, and are focusing on City Heights elementary schools in the Hoover and Crawford clusters as well as elementary classes that feed into our 6th grade Beach Science program, and can provide up to 130 free Virtual Outreach programs for grades K-5. The following elementary schools are eligible for fully funded programs through the Price Philanthropies Ocean Science Education Fund:
