Explore the wild side of Baja California, Mexico
Please Note Change of Date: lecture takes place on Tuesday, July 11, 2017
As a Scripps marine biologist, Dr. Daniel Cartamil has traveled the Pacific coast of Baja California for over a decade, studying the region's sharks and shark fisheries. There, he discovered a fragile paradise of remote landscapes, wildlife, and cultural treasures, on the verge of being overtaken by modern civilization. Science and art converge as we take a photographic journey through western Baja California illustrated with breathtaking photography from Cartamil’s new book, Baja’s Wild Side. His book is available at the Birch Aquarium Gift Shop and will be for sale at the lecture.
You can also view Cartamil's photos in a new exhibit at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
