Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez make up JOHNNYSWIM. The pair met in Nashville in 2005, instituting a songwriting partnership not long afterward. They clicked together musically and personally, beginning a romantic relationship along with their creative connection.
The couple married in 2009 and relocated to Los Angeles. In addition to their 2014 debut full- length, they’ve released three EPs, as well as a Christmas EP and a live album. They’ve performed on various television shows including VH1's “You Oughta Know Concert,” “The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno,” “Late Show with David Letterman,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Today Show,” “Live with Kelly & Michael,” and provided the theme song on HGTV’s “Fixer Upper.” The duo has also toured extensively including major U.S. festival appearances.
Opener Kinnie Dye
Singer/songwriter Kinnie Dye was born and raised in Oklahoma. You can’t help but hear and feel Kinnie’s roots in her voice and in her music. She’s a country girl at heart, but couldn’t wait to grow up and get out to see the world. After graduating with her Bachelor’s in Musical Theater from Oklahoma City University, she moved to New York City where she began touring the country with Broadway shows. She absolutely loved traveling the country, but the theater life never sat right with her.
At the end of 2010, she and her friends purchased a van off of Craigslist and decided to travel and sing their way across the country to San Diego. The majority of 2011 she was living in a van with her two bandmates and busking. They met a lot of people and sang a lot of songs. Through the kindness of strangers and their beautiful harmonies they managed to start new lives on the west coast. On her own since 2016, Kinnie recently released her first full-length album, LIVE — a completely live album created without any studio magic.
