Last Updated July 6, 2020

Birch Aquarium Temporarily Closed

As of July 7, 2020, Birch Aquarium is temporarily closed to the public until further notice. The closure will last at least three weeks and comes on the heels of Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest decision to rollback openings of businesses to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

If you are a member who has reserved a time to visit, and we are not open by the date of your scheduled visit, your reservation will be automatically cancelled. No action is required from you at this time, please visit our website to reschedule once we have announced a reopening date.

If you have purchased timed tickets and the aquarium is not open by the date of your scheduled visit, you may reschedule your visit for a future date once we know our reopening date; you may donate your ticket purchase to support the aquarium during this time of need; or contact Visitor Services for other options.

We will be monitoring state and county updates as the situation evolves and will be making announcements once we know when we will be able to reopen to the public.
