When will the aquarium reopen?
Birch aquarium will continue to follow state and local guidelines and will reopen as soon as restrictions are lifted.

I am a member and have reservations for a future date, what should I do?
If the aquarium is not open by the date of your scheduled visit, your reservation will be automatically cancelled and no action is required from you at this time. We hope you will make a new reservation when we are able to reopen.

I am NOT a member and have reservations for a future date, what should I do?
If the aquarium is not open by the date of your scheduled visit, you may:

  • Reschedule your visit for a future date (watch for updates as we cannot reschedule until we know our reopening date)
  • Donate your ticket purchase to support the aquarium during this time of need
  • Contact Visitor Services for other options

If you would like to reschedule your visit, donate your tickets, explore other options, or have any other questions, please contact Visitor Services at aquariuminfo@ucsd.edu or 858-534-FISH.
