Information for ParentsRegister Early!Sessions fill quickly, so be sure to register early. Scripps Oceanographic Society members can take advantage of priority registration starting on March 10, 2009. Public registration begins on March 17 and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.Enroll your child according to the grade he/she will enter in Fall 2009. Our programs are designed for the age group specified and age grouping will be strictly upheld. Birth certificate verification may be required for any child entering Pre-K camps. The following camps are currently FULL:0001- Sea Squirts: Session G 0002- Sea Slugs: Session B 0004- Exoscallywags Session A (July 30: CANCELLED) 0006- Penguins on Parade Session B (CANCELLED) 0019- Ocean Adventures Camp: Sessions A, B, C 0015 -Snorkel Camp Session E (August 31–September 4) CANCELLED 0002- Sea Slugs Session F (August 31–September 4) (CANCELLED) For all programs, register by phone, fax, mail, or in person. We accept payments by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card), cash, or check. We cannot hold your child’s space in a program until we have received full payment.

Once your registration is processed, a confirmation packet will be emailed to you. If no email address is provided, a confirmation will be sent to your home. If the class(es) you are registering for are unavailable, we will contact you as soon as possible. For more information and an application, call the Education Department at 858-534-8401 or go to our website, aquarium.ucsd.eduCancellation PolicyIn order to maintain quality programs at current cost levels, registration fees cannot be refunded unless the session is cancelled. If you register by mail and a program is full, you will be contacted for an alternate selection or your payment for that class will be returned to you. Should a class have insufficient enrollment, it will be cancelled five days prior to the scheduled start date. In this event, a full refund will be made, or an opportunity to enroll in another SLA 2009 class—space permitting—will be provided.ParkingThree-hour complimentary parking is available for aquarium visitors. We ask that you park in the lot and escort your child to the SLA check-in table by the Education office. Please do not park in the traffic circle when dropping off or picking up your child due to the high volume of summertime visitors and clearance for emergency vehicles. SLA participants will also have access to 15-minute pick-up/drop-off parking spaces in the lot.Student-to-Staff RatioIn our classroom and field programs, the student-to-staff ratio is at least 5:1 for ages 4–5 and 7:1 for ages 6 and up.
