0015 Snorkel Camp
Limited to 15 participants per session
Have you ever seen an octopus, touched a brittle star, or taken a swim with a fish? Explore local marine habitats and enjoy live-animal encounters as you take the plunge this summer with our experienced staff to learn the fun and easy sport of snorkeling. Visit the calm waters of Mission Bay, La Jolla Cove, and the sandy bottom of La Jolla Shores. Participants must provide their own snorkel gear and transportation to and from each day s location. Intermediate swimming ability is required.

0016 Shark Encounters
Limited to 15 participants per session
Discover the amazing world of sharks in the classroom and in the ocean! Learn about shark biology, behavior, and conservation through observation and hands-on investigation. Wrap up your shark encounters by snorkeling with La Jolla s leopard sharks. Participants must provide their own snorkel gear and transportation to and from each day s location. Intermediate swimming ability is required.

0017 Crime Scene Investigations
Limited to 20 participants per session
Become a junior agent as we investigate a crime against endangered sea turtles. Begin the week reviewing the crime scene evidence and meeting field experts. Throughout the investigation, you will learn skills such as fingerprinting and DNA extraction that will help you solve the mystery.

0018 Junior Field Biology Camp
Limited to 12 participants per session
Field biology is fun! Learn what it takes to be a field biologist as you travel to different San Diego ecosystems, see animals up close, and learn the basics of collecting wildlife data. This adventure-filled week includes snorkeling, hiking, and beachcombing. Intermediate swimming ability is required.

0019 Marine Biologist for a Week
Limited to 20 participants per session
Explore career options and experience what the profession is like through a variety of hands-on activities, dissections, beach sampling trips, and tide-pool investigations. Learn the techniques and tools scientists use to explore the biological ocean realm.

0020 Ocean Adventures Camp
Limited to 15 participants per session
Learn to surf, snorkel, and practice hands-on oceanography in this popular camp held at La Jolla Cove and Mission Point beaches and on the Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus. Experienced instructors will teach basic surfing, boogie-boarding, and snorkeling skills, while introducing you to related marine science topics, such as waves, rip currents, and near-shore marine life. Campers must provide their own lunches, snorkel equipment, and transportation to and from each day's location. Intermediate swimming ability is required.
