We
are excited to be starting another fun summer at Birch Aquarium at
Scripps. We take pride in offering an exciting learning
environment for campers to explore the ocean above and below.
With so many choices in summer experiences, we would like to assure you
that choosing a Birch Aquarium Summer Learning Adventures Camp is a
sound investment in your child’s learning.
The core of our camp philosophy is to provide an environment in which
we can stimulate social interaction and encourage good choices, while
developing an awareness and respect for the ocean.
We continue to align our camps within the guidelines of the American
Camp Association. This accreditation assures you that we are
fully committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for your
child.

Why Is American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation Important?
ACA accreditation means that Birch Aquarium at Scripps undergoes a
thorough review of its operations by the American Camp Association for
compliance with up to 300 health, safety, and program quality standards
— from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. ACA
collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the
American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that
current practices at our accredited camp reflect the most up-to-date,
research-based standards in camp operation.
