Whale Watching – Dec. 26, 2010 to April 10, 2011.
Whale Watching Photo Contest
We're looking for your best photos from Birch Aquarium's whale-watching excursions this season. Photos can feature marine life, guests aboard the cruise, bay/ocean views, sunsets, and more!
Winners receive a family membership to Birch Aquarium OR two tickets to a Green Flash Concert in summer 2011. They also receive dinner for two aboard Flagship–San Diego Harbor Excursion!
Directions for submission:
1. Visit flickr.com set up an account, if you don’t have one already.
2. Join our group! Once your account is created, join the Birch Aquarium Whale Watching group here .
3. Upload your photo.
-- Click the “Home” tab at the top of the page.
-- Click on the “Upload your photos and video” link.
-- Browse for your photo.
-- Click “Upload Photos and Videos”
-- Click “Add a Description”
-- Add the tag whalewatching11 and make sure you designate your photo as ”Public.”
-- Click “Save.”
4. Click on the photo(s) you wish to share, click "Send to Group” and choose the Birch Aquarium Whale Watching group. Remember to mark the photo as public.
Rules:
• Contest runs from Dec. 26, 2010 to April 10, 2011
• Three winners will be selected: one on Jan. 31, one on February 28, and one on April 10. Winners will be notified by Flickr Mail.
• Each photographer may enter up to five photographs.
• Entries may be color or black and white.
• Entries must be tagged whalewatching11 to be considered.
• Photos must have been taken aboard a Flagship–San Diego Harbor Excursion whale-watching cruise between Dec. 26, 2010 and April 10, 2011.
• By submitting to this contest, you agree that your photos can be used by Birch Aquarium at Scripps for marketing and public relations purposes. Entry constitutes permission by Birch Aquarium at Scripps, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and UC San Diego to publish and otherwise use the photo in any way without compensation to the photographer.
• Winning photos will be displayed on the Birch Aquarium at Scripps web site, and may be reproduced and showcased aboard Flagship–San Diego Harbor Excursion vessels.
• Photos must adhere to Flickr.com guidelines and are at the discretion of Birch Aquarium at Scripps.
• Aquarium staff and volunteers are excluded from this contest.
