Program and Visit Fees

ON-SITE-PROGRAMS

 

DISCOVERY LABS 

 
Grades: Pre-K-12
Times: M-F (9:30-10:30 am; 11:15 am-12:15 pm; 1:00-2:00 pm)
Fees:
  • October-January $130 for up to 20 students;
    $6.50 for each additional student
  • February-June $155 for up to 20 students;
    $7.75 for each additional student
Capacity:
  • Pre-K:              max. 20 students
  • Grades K-3:    max. 25 students
  • Grades 4-12:   max. 35 students
 Chaperones:
    One teacher/adult chaperone required per 5 students;
     Additional chaperones at $11 each 
    NOTE: Aquarium admission is included with program fee.
     
    K 1 Discovery Lab programs run 45 minutes in length.

    Pre-K Discovery Lab programs run 25 minutes in length.

    AQUARIUM-GUIDED EXPLORATIONS

    Docent-guided hands-on investigations of aquarium exhibits.
     
    Grades: K-12
    Times: M-F (9:30-10:30 am and 11:15 am-12:15 pm)
    Fees:
    • October-January: $65 for up to 10 students; $6.50 for each additional student
    • February-June: $77.50 for up to 10 students ; $7.75 for each additional student
    Capacity: Minimum 10 students, maximum 35 students
    Chaperones: One teacher/adult chaperone required per 5 students;
    Additional chaperones at $11 each.

    SELF-GUIDED VISITS

    Grades: All grades
    Times: Daily, by reservation only
    Fees:
    • September-January: $5 for each student
    • February-August: $5.50 for each student
     
    Capacity: Sixty students are allowed entrance at one time. If your group is larger than 60, we will ask that you divide the group and separate their arrival times by thirty minutes.
     
    Chaperones: One teacher/adult chaperone required per 5 students;
    Additional chaperones at $11 each

     

    OFF-SITE PROGRAMS

     

     

     AQUARIUM EXPRESS

    Grades: Pre-K
    Times: 25 minutes per program (booked two at a time)
    Fees:
    • October-January: $170 per two programs: additional blocks of two are $150. Maximum of 6 programs pe day.

    • February-June: $190 per two programs; additional blocks of two are $170. Maximum of 6 programs per day.
    Capacity: 20 students per program
     
    Chaperones: At the school location, at least one supervisory teacher or adult chaperone acting as supervisor must be present in the room at all times.
    An additional fee will be charged for sites more than 30 miles away from Birch Aquarium.
    Grades: K-12
    Times: 55-minute programs
    Fees:
    • October-January $170; additional programs are $150 each when scheduled for the same day. Maximum of four programs per day.
    • February-June $190; additional programs are $170 each when scheduled for the same day. Maximum of four programs per day.
    Capacity:
    Grades K-2: max. 25 students
    Grades 3-12: max. 35 students
    Chaperones: At the school location, at least one supervisory teacher or adult chaperone acting as supervisor must be present in the room at all times.

     

    BEACH TEACH

    Grades: K-12
    Times: Two-hour program at the beach
    Fees:
    • October-January: $7.50 per student
    • February-June: $8.75 per student
    Purchase aquarium admission at a discounted rate of $4.50 per student when booked with a Beach Teach. Admission to aquarium is valid only on day of scheduled program.

    Capacity:
    Grades K-2:   max. 30 students
    Grades 3-12: max 40 students
