FEELING THE HEAT: THE CLIMATE CHALLENGE

How will global warming impact your life? Find out what Scripps Institution of Oceanography scientists know, and what you can do about climate change. Fast-forward to a television newsroom in 2050 and broadcast California's weather report. Test your knowledge of whether everyday items contribute to climate change or help reduce its effects. Learn what critical role the oceans play in global temperature. Interactive displays and multimedia experiences will help to convey the dramatic changes taking place regionally and throughout the world.

WONDERS OF WATER

Get wet as children and guests of all ages explore water flow with interactive waterplay tables in our outdoor Smargon Courtyard. Dams and islands can be created and rearranged, resulting in currents and erosion in water-contained play areas. While this engaging exhibit is all about fun, children will have a dynamic environment in which to better understand the concept of erosion and how water flows naturally in our environment.

SHARK FEEDINGS

We have a lot of mouths to feed at the aquarium! Visit our outdoor shark reef tank and watch us feed these amazing creatures. Feedings occur on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Upon arrival at the aquarium, check with the aquarium s information desk for exact feeding time.

KELP TANK DIVE SHOW

Listen as our dynamic presenters, one of whom is diving in the tank, talk about the unique world of kelp forests during a 20-minute interactive presentation in our 70,000-gallon kelp forest tank. Dive shows take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Check with the aquarium s information desk for exact times.
